| U18 NBC 1 Red | Our U18 NBC 1 RED team dedicated lots of time off the ice this year to our community. Each player averaged about 6-8 hours of their time volunteering off the ice. Along with players, coaches, and parents, we managed to spend 2 Saturday mornings on the ice with 'TW/GL Try Hockey" program, as well as spending an entire day at the Calgary Food Bank packing hampers for those in need in our greater community. However, the biggest reward, as well as eye opening experience, was volunteering at the Calgary Food Bank. Sometimes, we all take basic needs for granted. These boys left their shift forever changed. |
| U18 BC 2 White | Team supported families impacted by domestic violence at the True North Shelter in Strathmore, through their Adopt a Family program. |
| U18 BC 1 | The team, along with coaches and a few parents, worked together and participated in helping with the Salvation Army annual “Santa Shuffle Fun Run”. This event is a 5 KM fun run and 1 KM walk, where the funds raised from participants go towards programming for the Salvation Army in Calgary. Our team helped by contributing their time and effort at the event on the race day. The time commitment was from 8Am - 12PM, December 6, 2025. Several tasks throughout the morning included: -assisting Salvation Army Santa Shuffle event staff where needed -assisting with set up and take down of several large event tents, tables, chairs -preparing the event site as needed, clearing snow, handing out race kits -monitor turn around points on race course -positively cheering on race participants on the course and post race Also noteworthy, our team also took part in a couple other community events in Calgary during the season. In November, team members attended a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Military Museum. More recently in March, we had 10 players and 4 coaches volunteer for one Saturday morning session of the Trails West ‘Try Hockey’ event. |
