📋 Registration Prerequisite Checklist

Before you begin your online registration, please ensure you have completed all mandatory requirements outlined by Trails West and Hockey Calgary. Registrations cannot be finalized or approved until these steps are met.

1. The Shift Forward (or Respect in Sport) Parent Certification

  • What is it? A mandatory online course promoting a positive hockey environment. At least one parent/guardian per household must have an active certification.
  • Action Required: If you are new to minor hockey, you must complete the course online. If you have previously taken it, ensure your certificate is active and that your newly registered child is linked to your profile in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR).
  • Note: Missing or unlinked certificates may block your registration.

2. Required Documentation (New Players & Transfers Only)

If your child is playing minor hockey for the first time, or if you have recently moved into the Trails West boundary footprint, you must email the following verification files directly to the Association Administrator before accessing the system:

  • Proof of Age: A clear digital copy or scan of your child's Birth Certificate or Passport.
  • Proof of Residency: A total of four (4) current residency documents (such as utility bills showing service/billing addresses, a homeowner insurance policy, or a vehicle registration).
  • Hockey Calgary Parent Declaration Form: Fully completed and signed by the parents/legal guardians.

🔍 Not sure if you live within our lines? Trails West boundary communities include Aspen Woods, Christie Park, Coach Hill, Discovery Ridge, Patterson Heights, Rosscarrock, Signal Hill, Springbank Hill, Strathcona Park, Westgate, and Wildwood. Please verify your address against the Hockey Calgary boundary map before applying.
